Itinerary

We depart every day (except the local holidays in Morocco)
(May suffer modifications in case the ferry is delayed) 

• 11.00 Meeting at the Maritime Station in Tarifa
• 11.30 Boarding closes
• 12.00 Departure
• 13.00 Departure with private car to Chaouen

You go with a private driver to the village of Chaouen.

The trip by car takes two hours. We recommend you to have stop halfway to have a snack in the cafeteria infront of the mountain lake.
Ask the driver to stop there, he may forget to stop there.

The driver leaves you in the square in front of “El Parador” Hotel. From there you walk to the Riad, which is about 100 meters away.

If you wish you can go up to the viewpoint where you see the whole city (you have to be in shape).

There is also a trekking path that leads to the famous plantations, look up a local guide know if you want to see it.

We recommend you to have lunch at “The magic lamp, Alladin” they have a roof terrace with wonderful views.

Take the opportunity to shop while walking through the town, there is a wide offer; lamps, tapestries, tea sets, leather and silver articles.

You can also buy tea, species, nuts, datiles by weight. There is no problem to bring the products on the ferry. Maximum one kilo each.

We recomend you to eat dinner at Casa Hassans restaurant. The breakfast is included.

Day 2:

Free time.
We recommend you to have lunch at the hotel “El Parador” it has a big terrace with views and a swimming pool. They also serve beer.

They pick you up at the same place where they left you.  

• 17.00 Departure from Chaouen.
• 19.00 Arrival at the port.
• 19.30 Boarding closes.
• 20.00 Departure.
• 20.35  Arrival to Tarifa port.
• 21.00 Back in Tarifa.

Meeting point

The meeting point is the INFORMATION COUNTER at the Maritime Station in Tarifa.
You have to arrive 1 hour before boarding.  

Warranty

In extreme weather conditions (strong winds) the excursion can be canceled, if the maritime traffic stops. In this case you will have your money back.

If the ferry gets canceled due to technical problems, we offer to travel with the next ferry with a later return to gain lost time whenever it's possible.

In both cases we offer to you travel another day with no extra charge.

If your booking includes hotel accomodation we dont reimburse nearer than 7 days before booking date -when the custumer want to cancel the booking.

Characteristics of the boat

Fast ferries, the boat trip takes only 35 minutes. We work with the two existing shipping companies in the Port of Tarifa. The ferries have cafeteria, bathrooms and tax free shops aboard.

• Babies with cart: YES. But you must notify us. Only folding chairs.
• Pregnant: YES. But you must confirm with your doctor. Tell the ferry company as well.

• People with reduced mobility: YES. Adapting the visit.
• People in wheelchairs: YES. Only folding chairs and adapting the visit.

Warnings

The customer must show theirp assport at the port. Some countries requires VISA, the customer is responsible to research for the conditions for their nationality. (Covid restrictions, you need a valid covid certificate for travelers)
All customers must fill in a form that is given in the port and later show it together with their documentation to the Moroccan policeman inside the ship.
There may be long a long queue in high season, July and August.
The customer must call the same day as departure in the morning. Schedules can change at last minute.
Due to bad weather, departures can be canceled. The same day in the morning, we make the confirmation of departures, depending on the weather conditions.

-Recommendations
The currency is DIRHAMS but they accept euros in Morocco.
It is advisable to bring smaller bills and coins.
It’s not worth changing the currency, they charge you a commission for the change of currency.
You can bring food and drinks with you. In case you have an allergy to any food talk to the restaurant waiter and he will offer you a (simple) alternative.
We recommend to bring sun protection, cap, coat, comfortable footwear and taking medicine to avoid sea sickness (biodramina).
If you have to park your car, we recommend that you arrive 1 hour before departure. We can inform you about parking areas.
