What does it consist of?

The fast boat offers the most exciting and closest experience to the animals, being the best way to observe them in their natural environment. This adrenaline-filled journey brings you closer than ever to these majestic sea creatures, offering you an unmatched adventure.

We depart every day, from February to November, for our whale watching excursion, where it is possible to observe up to seven different species.

The species vary depending on the time of year:

• Dolphins and pilot whales: year-round.
• Sperm whales and fin whales: spring, early summer, and autumn.
• Orcas: summer.

Educational information

During the journey, you will have the guidance of a biologist-guide, who will provide explanations and answer any questions.

Itinerary

Our adventure begins at the port of Tarifa, where we greet you directly at the boat, ensuring everything is ready for the journey.

We navigate the waters of the Strait of Gibraltar, a unique location for whale watching, where it is possible to observe up to seven different species throughout the year:

• Common, striped, and bottlenose dolphins
• Pilot whales
• Sperm whales
• Fin whales
• Orcas

Our route takes us between the coasts of Tarifa and Morocco, following the natural migration paths of these impressive marine mammals. On most departures, we approach the African coast, where the conditions are usually optimal for observation.

Meeting point

The meeting point is at the Tarifa port, dock number 2. You must arrive at least 30 minutes before boarding.

Warranty

The probability of spotting at least one species is 95%. If no species are spotted on the first attempt, we will offer you a free trip to ensure you can enjoy the experience.

The confirmation of departures is made the same day in the morning, depending on the weather conditions. To avoid an unnecessary trip to Tarifa, customers can contact TARIFA EXPERIENCE before leaving home on the same day of the excursion by calling +34 633 108 807 to confirm the departure.

Sustainability:

The whale watching is carried out in compliance with current regulations, maintaining the established distances to ensure the respect and protection of the animals and their natural environment.

Cancellations:

The customer can change the excursion date free of charge up to 48 hours before the reservation and also has the option to reschedule for the following year.

If you cancel at least 48 hours before boarding, we will refund 95% of the total amount paid.

(If the weather conditions are bad and we have to cancel the departure, we offer you an alternative time or a full refund).

Characteristics of the boat

Our vessel, due to its design, allows for sightings very close to the water's surface, offering total proximity to the animals. On board, we have life jackets for all passengers and provide waterproof windbreakers for added comfort. The boat has a design similar to that of Maritime Rescue boats, ensuring maximum safety for navigation.

The customer must call on the same day of the departure to confirm the excursion. Schedules may change at the last minute, or the departure may be canceled due to bad weather.

Recommendations:

Sun protection, a hat, warm clothing, and comfortable shoes are essential to be prepared for sea conditions.
